MSD joins as anchor customer as Aurobindo strengthens its position in the fast-growing global biologics manufacturing market
Aurobindo Pharma has inaugurated TheraNym, one of India’s largest dedicated biologics contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), marking a major milestone in the company’s expansion into biologics manufacturing.
The facility was inaugurated in the presence of i D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs of Telangana, and Damodar Raja Narasimha, Minister for Science and Technology of Telangana.
Ahead of the inauguration, Aurobindo Pharma’s leadership team and senior executives from MSD met with Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy to discuss the project and acknowledge the government's support. MSD has been announced as the anchor customer for TheraNym, reflecting confidence in the facility’s capabilities and strategic importance to global biologics supply chains.
Located in Borapatla near Hyderabad, the state-of-the-art facility is equipped with 15 KL bioreactors, advanced downstream processing suites, aseptic fill-finish capabilities, and modern quality control laboratories.
Designed to meet international regulatory standards, TheraNym is intended to support MSD’s supply chain requirements for domestic and export markets, subject to applicable approvals and customer needs.
