The new centre marks a significant milestone in Merck's India operations, reinforcing the company's commitment to building a more connected, agile, and future-ready digital enterprise

Merck, a leading science and technology company, has inaugurated its Merck Global Capability Centre (MGCC) in Bengaluru's Electronic City, bringing together its existing technology and shared services operations in India under one integrated campus.

Spread across 17,000 sq. m., the state-of-the-art facility will house nearly 3,300 professionals working across data, digital, process, and technology functions.

Designed to foster innovation and collaboration, the campus features innovation labs, neurodiversity-friendly zones, and modern collaborative workspaces.

The new centre marks a significant milestone in Merck's India operations, reinforcing the company's commitment to building a more connected, agile, and future-ready digital enterprise.

At the core of the MGCC is Digital Enterprise Solutions (DES), Merck's global organization responsible for enterprise platforms, process optimization, data and AI, technology infrastructure, hyperautomation, and process excellence.

The Bengaluru hub will serve as one of the company's largest concentrations of DES talent, supporting enterprise-wide digital solutions across research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial operations, and corporate functions worldwide.

"The Merck Global Capability Centre is much more than an operational hub—it is a strategic engine for our digital enterprise. By bringing data, technology and process teams under one roof, we are strengthening the foundation needed to scale innovation faster, improve agility and deliver greater impact across Merck's global businesses," said Alessandro De Luca, Head of Digital Enterprise Solutions and Group CIO, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.

In addition to Digital Enterprise Solutions, the Bengaluru campus will support digital innovation initiatives across Merck's Life Science, Healthcare, and Electronics businesses.

The integrated centre will function as a cross-functional hub of excellence in artificial intelligence, analytics, automation, and enterprise technologies, driving innovation across the company's global operations.

With the launch of the MGCC, India further strengthens its position within Merck's global network, becoming the company's fourth-largest workforce hub after Germany, the United States, and China.

Building on nearly six decades of presence in India since 1967, the new facility underscores Merck's long-term commitment to expanding its digital capabilities and leveraging India's technology talent to power the next phase of global innovation and business growth.
