Both maintenance regimens recorded an 88% rate of 90-day corticosteroid-free clinical remission
Johnson & Johnson has reported sustained clinical and endoscopic remission through three years in adults with moderately to severely active Crohn’s disease treated with TREMFYA (guselkumab), with clinical remission rates reaching 94% and endoscopic remission rates climbing to 61%.
The three-year findings from the Phase 3 GALAXI 2 and GALAXI 3 studies, presented at the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting, showed durable treatment outcomes across both TREMFYA maintenance regimens. The results also showed that 88% of patients achieved 90-day corticosteroid-free clinical remission.
The Week 144 long-term extension data add to the evidence on the treatment’s ability to maintain disease control in adults living with moderately to severely active Crohn’s disease.
At Week 144, clinical remission was achieved by 94% of patients receiving TREMFYA 100 mg every eight weeks and 91% of those receiving 200 mg every four weeks.
Both maintenance regimens recorded an 88% rate of 90-day corticosteroid-free clinical remission, while endoscopic remission — an indicator of improvement in intestinal inflammation assessed through endoscopy — reached 52% with the 100 mg regimen and 61% with the 200 mg regimen.
Overall, 74% of TREMFYA-treated patients remained on treatment through three years.
Safety findings through Week 144 were consistent with TREMFYA’s established safety profile in Crohn’s disease, the company said.
“In a chronic, lifelong disease, the ability to sustain clinical and endoscopic outcomes through three years is particularly meaningful for patients,” said David Rubin, Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at the University of Chicago. “These results contribute to the growing body of evidence that TREMFYA can provide patients with deep and sustained remission over time, creating a strong foundation for long-term disease management.”
Crohn’s disease is a lifelong inflammatory condition with no cure, making sustained control of symptoms and intestinal inflammation a central goal of treatment. Long-term remission can be important in reducing the burden of persistent disease and helping patients manage the condition over time.
Johnson & Johnson said the three-year findings demonstrate sustained clinical, corticosteroid-free and endoscopic remission across both TREMFYA maintenance regimens, adding to the evidence available to physicians evaluating long-term treatment options.
“Johnson & Johnson has built deep expertise in immune-mediated diseases including inflammatory bowel disease, and our research is designed to answer questions that arise over the course of this chronic condition,” said David M. Lee, Global Immunology Therapeutic Area Head, Johnson & Johnson.
“The clinical and endoscopic remission observed with TREMFYA through three years reinforces our commitment to generating long-term evidence that can help physicians make informed treatment decisions for people living with Crohn’s disease.”
