Platform expands to offer access to verified therapists and care organisations; appoints NIMHANS-trained psychiatrist Dr. Anjali Jaisinghani as Chief Medical Officer
Menthra, an AI-powered emotional wellbeing platform, has launched Menthra Care in India, expanding its services to connect users with verified therapists, coaches, licensed clinical professionals and care organisations when support beyond an AI companion is required.
As per company, the launch builds on Menthra's India debut in June, during which the platform attracted tens of thousands of users within weeks.
Designed to bridge the gap between everyday emotional support and professional mental healthcare, Menthra Care enables users to transition seamlessly from AI-assisted conversations to qualified human professionals. The platform carries relevant conversation context forward, reducing the need for users to repeatedly explain their situation as they move across different levels of care.
As part of the initiative, Menthra is establishing two nationwide networks. Its Therapist Network will comprise verified and background-checked therapists, psychiatrists, clinicians, coaches and mentors who meet standardized quality benchmarks.
The Care Network will collaborate with community clinics, universities, non-profit organisations and other institutions to improve access to mental health support, particularly for underserved communities facing barriers such as affordability, distance and limited availability of professionals.
Menthra said the platform incorporates encrypted communications, governed and logged access to user data, anonymised clinical reviews by default, and has been designed in alignment with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
To lead the clinical strategy for Menthra Care, the company has appointed Dr. Anjali Jaisinghani, a NIMHANS-trained psychiatrist, as Chief Medical Officer, Menthra India. She will oversee the development of clinical protocols and the platform's professional network, with a focus on building accessible, evidence-based emotional wellbeing services.
Dinakara Nagalla, Founder and CEO of Menthra, said, "An app can be there at 2 a.m., but emotional wellbeing support cannot end with an app. There are moments when people need qualified professionals who understand their journey and can provide the right level of care. With Menthra Care, we are building the human and clinical layer that connects everyday emotional support with professional care, so people can receive appropriate support when they need it without having to start their story again at every stage."
Dr. Anjali Jaisinghani, Chief Medical Officer, Menthra India, said, "Most people never reach care in time. What drew me to Menthra was the opportunity to build the layer that changes that—not one clinic at a time, but as real infrastructure."
