Collaboration aims to accelerate medicinal chemistry decision-making, reduce synthesis burden and strengthen data-secure AI adoption in drug discovery

Sygnature Discovery, a leading integrated drug discovery contract research organisation (CRO), has entered into a strategic collaboration with DaltonTx to strengthen its AI-enabled drug discovery capabilities and accelerate medicinal chemistry decision-making while ensuring the secure management of customer data.

DaltonTx combines expertise in drug discovery, software engineering, and artificial intelligence through its Dalton platform, which integrates data, computational models, and experimental results into a unified learning system designed to support both biologics and small-molecule discovery programmes.

Under the collaboration, DaltonTx’s platform will be incorporated into Sygnature Discovery’s existing computational and medicinal chemistry toolkit alongside proprietary and third-party technologies, including SygDesign, BullFrog AI, and Iktos. By leveraging multiple complementary AI platforms, Sygnature Discovery aims to improve the speed and quality of decision-making across drug discovery programmes.

As part of the partnership, Sygnature Discovery is conducting a retrospective evaluation of a legacy oncology programme involving a small-molecule clinical candidate currently in Phase I development. The assessment is intended to determine whether the Dalton platform could have enabled more efficient candidate selection through enhanced decision-making and a reduced need for compound synthesis.

Simon Hirst, Chief Executive Officer of Sygnature Discovery, said, “AI in drug discovery continues to evolve rapidly, but we believe the future lies in combining the power of machine learning with the expertise and intuition of experienced scientists.”

“By helping scientists make better-informed decisions earlier in the discovery process, we can reduce the number of compounds synthesised and tested, shorten DMTA cycles and accelerate progression toward candidate selection,” added Hirst.

Garry Pairaudeau, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of DaltonTx, said, “We believe the organisations that capture the most value from AI will be those that connect their teams, tools and data into systems that improve real-world discovery decisions. We are proud to collaborate with Sygnature Discovery to deliver tangible outcomes that translate into measurable value.”
