Developed using insights from Indian tumour genomics, the original panel was designed to improve access to comprehensive cancer profiling

Precision oncology company 4baseCare has launched TARGT Indiegene V2, the next-generation version of its comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) test for cancer biomarker testing, expanding the company’s genomic capabilities and its focus on population-relevant precision oncology.

The launch comes five years after 4baseCare introduced its first Indiegene panel on August 15, 2021.

Developed using insights from Indian tumour genomics, the original panel was designed to improve access to comprehensive cancer profiling. According to the company, five years of continued innovation, clinical experience and genomic research have now culminated in Indiegene V2.

The new panel covers 2,206 genes, significantly expanding genomic breadth compared with the original test. Beyond increasing the number of genes analysed, 4baseCare said Indiegene V2 is designed to provide a broader understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying cancer.

The test maps genomic coverage across the Hallmarks of Cancer, reflecting the interconnected biological processes that influence tumour growth, survival, DNA repair, immune evasion and disease progression.

TARGT Indiegene V2 includes biomarkers for immunotherapy, including microsatellite instability (MSI) and an individualised Tumour Mutation Burden (iTMB) score with percentile scoring. The panel also incorporates homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) scoring and coverage of 36 homologous recombination repair (HRR) genes.

In addition, the test covers copy-number variations (CNVs) and 299 clinically relevant gene fusions, which 4baseCare describes as among the most extensive fusion coverage available in commercial CGP assays.

Hitesh Goswami, Co-founder & CEO, 4baseCare, said Indiegene V2 represents a shift from identifying individual biomarkers towards understanding the broader biology underlying cancer. He added that as the company expands the test to more patients and clinicians in global markets, its objective remains to make comprehensive and meaningful precision oncology accessible across diverse populations.

Kshitij Rishi, Co-founder and COO, 4baseCare, said TARGT Indiegene V2 builds on the company’s experience in population-relevant oncology and marks the next stage of its efforts to develop globally relevant precision-oncology solutions for diverse and historically underrepresented populations.

The launch strengthens 4baseCare’s focus on integrating genomic insights with clinical intelligence to support more comprehensive cancer profiling and personalised treatment decision-making across different patient populations.
