The Trivitron Healthcare CMD and FICCI Tamil Nadu Chairman was honoured for advancing indigenous innovation and strengthening India's healthcare ecosystem
Dr. GSK Velu, Chairman of the FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council and CMD of Trivitron Healthcare, Neuberg Diagnostics, and Maxivision Eye Hospitals, has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 5th Dr. K.C.G. Verghese Excellence Awards 2026 for his exceptional contributions to India's healthcare, diagnostics, medical technology, and eye care sectors.
The award was presented by Justice A.D. Jagadish Chandira, Judge of the Madras High Court, at a ceremony hosted by the Hindustan Group of Institutions in Chennai. Instituted in memory of the late Dr. K.C.G. Verghese, the awards recognize individuals whose leadership has made a lasting impact on industry and society.
With more than 37 years of experience, Dr. Velu has been instrumental in advancing India's healthcare manufacturing, diagnostics, medtech, and ophthalmology ecosystem.
Through his leadership of Trivitron Healthcare, Neuberg Diagnostics, and Maxivision Eye Hospitals, he has championed affordable, high-quality healthcare, indigenous innovation, industry-academia collaboration, and globally competitive healthcare solutions.
In addition to leading several healthcare enterprises, Dr. Velu is serving his sixth consecutive term as Chairman of the FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council, where he has played a key role in promoting healthcare manufacturing, diagnostics, medtech innovation, and policy collaboration.
He is also a mentor, director, and investor at Kauvery Hospitals, General Partner and Lending Partner at Stakeboat Capital, and Founder & Director of Apollo White Dental and the Apollo Dialysis network.
