The PSP businesses of HCAH and QMS will be combined under Saarathi Healthcare, a 100% subsidiary of QMS
Health Care At Home India Pvt Ltd (HCAH) and QMS Medical Allied Services Limited (QMS) have signed definitive documents to merge their pharma services businesses, creating what the companies say will be India’s largest patient support program (PSP) platform.
Under the proposed transaction, the PSP businesses of HCAH and QMS will be combined under Saarathi Healthcare, a 100% subsidiary of QMS.
The merged platform will bring together 160+ patient support programs impacting more than 1.2 million patients, backed by 2,000+ professionals across 35+ cities. Its capabilities will span the patient journey—from screening and enrolment to therapy initiation, adherence, patient assistance and disease management.
The companies said the combination is aimed at creating a scaled provider of PSP solutions for leading Indian and multinational pharmaceutical companies, while retaining continuity for existing clients, programs and teams during the transition.
Mahesh Makhija, Founder, Chairman & Managing Director, QMS Medical Allied Services Limited, said: “The combination brings together two complementary platforms with strong capabilities across patient support and engagement. By bringing these capabilities together, we aim to create greater scale, reach and execution capability for pharmaceutical companies while helping more patients access the support they need throughout their treatment journey. This initiative would also fortify the value creation for the shareholders at QMS.”
Aditya Burman, Non-Executive Director, HCAH, and Director, Dabur India Ltd, said: “Patient support is increasingly becoming an integral part of the healthcare journey, particularly as chronic conditions require sustained engagement beyond the point of treatment initiation. The combination of HCAH’s and QMS’s capabilities creates a scaled platform with the reach, technology and execution capabilities to support patients and pharmaceutical partners across the continuum of care”
The combined business will bring together capabilities across health and awareness camps, disease screening, patient enrolment, disease management, therapy initiation, adherence, patient assistance and ongoing patient engagement.
For pharmaceutical companies, the expanded platform is intended to provide support across a wider range of patient touchpoints—from identifying patients and initiating therapy to ensuring adherence and continued engagement.
The move comes as India’s patient support services market expands amid rising chronic disease prevalence, tighter promotional regulations, increasing industry formalisation, greater digital adoption and a growing emphasis on continuous patient monitoring and recovery.
The global patient support services market is estimated at around US$70 billion, while the Indian market is projected to grow at a 15–20% CAGR to approximately US$1 billion by 2030.
