Jolly Healthcare has announced the national launch of KETOJOL 4:1, a ketogenic diet formulation designed to support the clinical management of drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) in children.
Standardised to a 4:1 fat-to-(protein + carbohydrate) ratio, KETOJOL 4:1 is positioned by the company as India’s first ketogenic diet formulation manufactured under a specialised pharmaceutical licence.
According to Jolly Healthcare, KETOJOL 4:1 has been developed to address some of the practical challenges associated with implementing traditional ketogenic diets, including complex dietary calculations, palatability issues and potential nutritional and gastrointestinal concerns.
Avish Jolly, MD & CEO, Jolly Healthcare, said families managing drug-resistant epilepsy have historically faced challenges in implementing ketogenic dietary therapy consistently at home.
The formulation contains Inulin as a prebiotic, which the company said is intended to support gastrointestinal tolerance, along with an enriched micronutrient profile aimed at addressing nutritional requirements associated with restrictive ketogenic regimens.
Jolly Healthcare is adopting an institution-first rollout strategy, targeting tertiary-care hospitals, paediatric neurology centres and specialised dietetic clinics.
The launch is supported by the KETOJOL Keto Support Program, which includes precision digital weighing protocols with 0.1-gram accuracy and caregiver education to support accurate administration.
KETOJOL 4:1 is intended to be used under qualified medical supervision as an adjunct dietary therapy alongside prescribed clinical management. The company said the product is aimed at providing paediatric neurologists and dietitians with a standardised and practical nutritional intervention for children requiring ketogenic dietary therapy.
