Lawton plastic surgery launches minimal-scar breast augmentation program

New endoscopic transaxillary approach combines personalised implant selection, advanced surgical planning and enhanced recovery protocols

Lawton Plastic Surgery has launched a Comprehensive Minimal-Scar Breast Augmentation Program, aimed at offering women a breast enhancement option that minimises visible scarring while delivering natural-looking results.

Developed by Dr. Gary Lawton, a Yale-trained, board-certified plastic surgeon, the programme integrates endoscopic transaxillary breast augmentation, personalised implant selection, modern recovery protocols and comprehensive surgical planning into a patient-centred treatment pathway.

Unlike conventional breast augmentation procedures that involve incisions on the breast, the new technique places implants through a small incision concealed within the natural crease of the underarm. 

Using high-definition endoscopic visualisation, surgeons can create the implant pocket under direct vision, improving surgical precision while avoiding scars on the breast itself.

According to Dr. Lawton, the programme reflects more than 25 years of experience in cosmetic breast surgery and addresses the growing demand for procedures that prioritise both aesthetics and recovery.

"Women today want much more than simply larger breasts. They want natural proportions, minimal visible scarring, rapid recovery and long-term results that complement their anatomy," Dr. Lawton said.

The programme includes advanced endoscopic transaxillary breast augmentation, personalised implant selection based on individual anatomy and aesthetic goals, dual-plane implant placement where appropriate, detailed preoperative planning, evidence-based postoperative recovery protocols, advanced wound-healing techniques and long-term follow-up care.

Dr. Lawton noted that advances in implant technology, endoscopic visualisation, tissue handling and patient education have transformed breast augmentation over the past two decades. He added that while technology has enhanced surgical precision, successful outcomes continue to depend on experience, sound surgical judgment and meticulous technique.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Dr. Lawton completed his General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at the Yale University School of Medicine, where he also undertook a two-year fellowship in wound healing and regenerative medicine.
