Integrated multidisciplinary model positions Hyderabad as a growing referral hub for advanced pediatric care
Ankura Hospitals is strengthening its Center of Excellence (CoE) for Pediatric Care, deepening capabilities in rare pediatric super-specialties, minimally invasive surgery, and integrated critical care to improve outcomes for children with complex and multi-system disorders.
The expanded CoE combines advanced pediatric medical expertise, surgical excellence, and state-of-the-art Level 3 NICU and PICU infrastructure, supported by fully equipped pediatric wards and round-the-clock critical care teams.
The model enables early diagnosis, faster specialist coordination, and cohesive treatment planning, particularly for children presenting with congenital anomalies, neonatal complications, developmental challenges, and immunological disorders.
A key area of focus is the advancement of minimally invasive pediatric surgery, where complex conditions such as congenital kidney disorders, neonatal lung malformations, and spinal defects are increasingly managed through laparoscopic and endoscopic approaches, reducing recovery time and improving patient outcomes.
A major contributor to this program is Dr. V. V. S. Chandrasekharam, a leading pediatric surgeon and urologist widely recognised for his expertise in minimally invasive pediatric procedures.
Commenting on the development, Dr. Krishna Prasad Rao Vunnam, Founder and Managing Director, Ankura Hospitals, said, “Timely and specialized intervention can make a significant difference in pediatric outcomes. By strengthening our Center of Excellence, we aim to ensure that children receive the right care at the right time through a structured, multidisciplinary approach.”
