Lilavati Hospital is set to make its first international foray with the launch of a super-speciality outpatient department (OPD) facility in Kazakhstan in early September 2026, marking a major step in the hospital’s plans to take its healthcare expertise beyond India.

 

The Kazakhstan centre will be the first Lilavati healthcare facility outside India to become operational, bringing specialist consultations, second opinions, advanced treatment planning and access to Indian medical expertise closer to patients across Central Asia.

 

The facility will offer super-speciality services spanning oncology, liver and hepatobiliary care, kidney and transplantation, cardiac sciences, neurology and neurosurgery, IVF and reproductive medicine, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, urology, endocrinology and diabetes, paediatrics, and pulmonology.

 

Patients requiring complex procedures and advanced surgical interventions will be connected with Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for further treatment.

 

With more than three decades of healthcare experience, Lilavati Hospital enters the international market with a clinical network of around 375 consultants and specialists across more than 40 medical and surgical specialties. Its expertise includes transplantation, oncology, cardiac sciences, neurosciences, robotic and minimally invasive surgery, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery, and IVF.

 

The hospital is positioning Kazakhstan as the first major step in a broader international expansion strategy focused particularly on the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and other global markets. The expansion is being pursued under the stewardship of Smt Charuben Mehta, Founder, Permanent Trustee for Life & Chairperson, Lilavati Hospital.

The centre is also expected to function as a gateway for Lilavati’s wider expansion across Central Asia and other international markets, combining specialist consultations, cross-border treatment pathways, telemedicine, medical education and collaboration between doctors in India and Kazakhstan.

 

The move signals Lilavati Hospital’s ambition to build an international healthcare network that extends Indian super-speciality expertise to patients closer to home while creating structured pathways to advanced care in India.
