Two-day programme brings together gynaecologists and surgeons for expert-led sessions, case-based learning and live surgical demonstrations
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City, organised a two-day Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme, “Comprehensive Benign Gynecology: From Basics to Advanced,” on August 29 and 30, 2026.
The programme brought together gynaecologists and surgeons for evidence-based clinical updates, expert discussions, case-based learning and live surgical demonstrations, with a focus on advances in the diagnosis and management of benign gynaecological conditions.
The programme was held under the patronage of Dr. G. Surender Rao, Managing Director, Yashoda Hospitals, and Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, MD, Pulmonary & Critical Care (ABIM), Director – Yashoda Hospitals.
The scientific advisory team included Dr. Venkat Raman Kola, Clinical Director; Dr. Shantha Kumari, Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist & Laparoscopic Surgeon; and Dr. Jamuna Devi Gudidevuni, Honorary/Part-Time Consultant Gynaecologist, Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City.
The organising committee comprised Dr. Radhika Reddy Y., Dr. Krishnaveni Nayini, Dr. Damalapati Sonia Rani and Dr. Anitha Kunnaiah, all from Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City.
The scientific programme covered several areas of contemporary benign gynaecology, including minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopic hysterectomy, hysteroscopy, V-NOTES, myomectomy, microwave ablation and urogynecology. The programme also addressed the management of surgical complications.
A key highlight was the Yashoda Oration by Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar, Laparoscopic and Robotic Cancer Surgeon and Medical Director, Galaxy Care Multispecialty Hospital.
The event also featured a masterclass with live hysteroscopy surgeries, alongside expert sessions and panel discussions covering fibroid and adenomyosis management, minimally invasive hysterectomy, frozen pelvis and pelvic organ prolapse.
The programme also examined the evolving role of artificial intelligence in healthcare and endoscopy, reflecting the increasing integration of technology into clinical decision-making and procedural care.
