The initiative will target hospitals, diagnostic centres, research institutions and smaller healthcare facilities

Avio Smart Market Stack Limited (ASMS), formerly Bartronics India Limited, and Huwel Lifesciences are stepping up their collaboration to build a nationwide commercialisation platform for Cubo, Huwel’s ultra-compact RT-PCR system, in a move aimed at expanding access to molecular diagnostics across India’s private healthcare sector.

The initiative will target hospitals, diagnostic centres, research institutions and smaller healthcare facilities, with the companies planning to build a dedicated sales and distribution network to drive Cubo’s adoption across the country.

The commercial push will include the recruitment of senior sales leadership, the creation of specialised sales teams and the development of strategic channel partnerships. While Cubo will be the initial focus, the platform is also expected to create a route to market for Huwel’s wider molecular diagnostics portfolio.

N Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director, ASMS, said, “The next phase of our collaboration with Huwel is focused on building the commercial infrastructure needed to take advanced molecular diagnostic technologies to a much wider customer base.

"Cubo’s compact format creates an opportunity to bring RT-PCR capabilities closer to hospitals, laboratories and other healthcare providers, including those outside the traditional centralised laboratory ecosystem. Our focus will be on building the sales leadership, distribution network and market coverage required to support its adoption at scale across India.”

Cubo is designed to bring RT-PCR testing closer to decentralised healthcare settings, potentially reducing reliance on large centralised laboratories.

Its ultra-compact format is aimed at healthcare environments where conventional molecular diagnostic infrastructure may be difficult to deploy. That positioning could be particularly relevant in India, where healthcare delivery extends from major metropolitan centres to a wide network of hospitals, diagnostic facilities and medical institutions across Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

The planned commercial strategy will target private hospitals, diagnostic chains, independent laboratories, medical colleges, research institutions and other healthcare establishments.

ASMS and Huwel intend to combine direct sales with channel partnerships, backed by product demonstrations, installation support and ongoing customer engagement.

The companies are also looking beyond instrument sales.

ASMS and Huwel plan to develop an ecosystem around the Cubo platform that includes compatible molecular assays and consumables to support recurring testing requirements. Huwel’s broader capabilities in molecular diagnostics could allow Cubo installations to support multiple testing applications rather than being restricted to a single use case.

The strategy marks a new phase in the ASMS-Huwel relationship, shifting the focus from product and institutional opportunities towards building a broader commercial engine for Huwel’s molecular diagnostics portfolio.

For ASMS, the initiative provides a route to deepen its presence in healthcare and diagnostics through indigenous technologies. For Huwel, the partnership is intended to add commercial reach, sales infrastructure and execution capabilities to support wider product adoption.
