CoMira Diagnostics will manufacture PCR diagnostic instruments and medical consumables in Sudair Industrial City
Co-Diagnostics has advanced its Middle East manufacturing expansion plans after its joint venture, CoMira Diagnostics, finalised a lease agreement for a manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia’s Sudair Industrial City.
The leased facility, spanning nearly 14,400ft², will manufacture diagnostic instruments, laboratory testing equipment, and medical consumables, supporting planned production of the company’s Co-Dx PCR platform and related technologies, subject to regulatory approvals. The agreement follows the earlier industrial land allocation approval granted by the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON).
According to Co-Diagnostics, the turnkey nature of the facility is expected to accelerate operational readiness while supporting the company’s capital-efficient expansion strategy. The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda, which focuses on strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities, healthcare infrastructure, and supply-chain resilience.
CoMira aims to establish local manufacturing and distribution capabilities across Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The company believes local production could provide strategic advantages in government procurement programmes that prioritise domestically manufactured healthcare products.
The development also complements Co-Diagnostics’ broader global expansion strategy through regional joint ventures, including its India-based JV, CoSara Diagnostics. Earlier this year, the company began shipping PCR Pro instruments and tuberculosis testing kits to CoSara in India.
