SS Innovations International, Inc. (SSII) has successfully demonstrated a complex long-distance robotic telesurgery using its indigenous SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System and portable MantrAsana Tele-Surgeon Console, connecting Perth, Australia, to Indore, India, across a distance of more than 10,000 kilometres.

The milestone procedure was performed by Dr Mohit Bhandari, who remotely carried out a robotic gastrojejunostomy on a patient in Indore while operating from Perth, Australia.

The surgery, completed in approximately three minutes, highlighted the precision, responsiveness, and reliability of SSII’s advanced telesurgical ecosystem. The round-trip transmission latency for data and video signals remained below 150 milliseconds.

The live telesurgery demonstration took place during the Annual Scientific Congress 2026 of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons held in Perth from April 30 to May 3, 2026, showcasing how robotic surgical technologies can bridge geographical barriers in healthcare delivery.

Dr Mohit Bhandari, President of IRCAD India and Founder & Director of Mohak Bariatric and Robotic Surgery Centre, said the milestone demonstrated that physical distance is no longer a limitation in delivering advanced surgical care. He noted that the successful remote procedure validated the robustness of the made-in-India SSI Mantra platform and the transformative capabilities of the MantrAsana console.

Dr Sudhir Srivastava, Founder, Chairman and CEO of SSII, congratulated the medical and technical teams for accomplishing the landmark telesurgery between Australia and India. He said the achievement represented a major advancement in connected healthcare and reinforced the company’s mission of making robotic surgery accessible across healthcare systems globally.
