Allergan Aesthetics is sounding the alarm on a major shift in the beauty industry, unveiling sweeping new global research that shows patients are demanding more personalised, long-term, and holistic aesthetic treatments than ever before.
The company, part of pharma powerhouse AbbVie, will showcase the findings—and the next evolution of its AA Signature framework—at AMWC 2026 in Monaco, positioning itself at the forefront of what it calls a new era in medical aesthetics.
"Medical aesthetics is entering an exciting era, where patients are embracing a broader, more holistic perspective on their treatment journeys," remarked Mark Wilson, Senior Vice President, International, Allergan Aesthetics.
"Our latest research offers compelling evidence of the shift in expectations – underscoring trends practitioners are already seeing in the clinic," Wilson continued. "Patients are not only increasingly willing to explore treatment combinations, but they are seeking greater clarity and truly bespoke plans to guide them towards authentic, natural-looking results over time."
The conclusions come from one of the largest global consumer studies of its kind, surveying more than 12,000 beauty-engaged individuals across nine countries. The data paints a clear picture: patients are no longer satisfied with one-off procedures—they want coordinated strategies and expert guidance as they navigate a rapidly expanding menu of aesthetic options.
"At AMWC, our program provides a tangible demonstration of how Allergan Aesthetics has built a portfolio and education platform to help healthcare professionals deliver the results their patients' want. We continue to learn and evolve our proprietary multimodal approach, AA Signature™ through the introduction of elevated Signature Looks" Wilson continued.
"Our proven portfolio is designed not only to perform individually, but to integrate seamlessly with one another and alongside other modalities. Through structured treatment frameworks, science and education, we're helping practitioners deliver personalised outcomes within holistic aesthetic treatment plans."
The company will formally launch its findings in a new report, Layered Beauty: The New Aesthetic Mindset, at the Monaco event.
The numbers underscore the momentum behind the trend: 62% of respondents find multiple treatments appealing, 59% are ready to embrace structured multi-treatment plans, and a striking 78% say they would be more satisfied following a long-term strategy agreed with their practitioner.
