Astec’s performance remained under pressure during the first half of FY27

Astec LifeSciences Limited reported a sharp deterioration in operating performance for the second quarter of FY27, with its EBITDA loss widening to Rs 19.2 crore from Rs 5.6 crore a year ago, even as total income declined marginally.

The loss before tax widened to Rs 37.4 crore from Rs 24.4 crore a year ago. The company also reported a net loss of Rs 37.4 crore for the quarter, against Rs 24.4 crore in Q2 FY26.

The deterioration in operating earnings was particularly pronounced, with EBITDA losses more than tripling year-on-year to Rs 19.2 crore from Rs 5.6 crore.

Astec’s performance remained under pressure during the first half of FY27, with consolidated total income declining 6% to Rs 156.9 crore from Rs 166.4 crore in H1 FY26.

The company reported an EBITDA loss of Rs 19.1 crore for the six-month period, compared with Rs 16.1 crore in the year-ago period.

However, its first-half loss narrowed marginally to Rs 56.1 crore from Rs 57.4 crore a year earlier, according to the company’s financial results.

Loss before tax also improved marginally to Rs 56.2 crore from Rs 57.4 crore in H1 FY26.
