Frontage Laboratories, a leading global CRO/CDMO, has completed the acquisition of Teddy Clinical Research Laboratory (Shanghai), a top clinical research laboratory in China. The move is aimed at boosting Frontage’s global lab services and strengthening its footprint across China and the Asia-Pacific region.

“Teddy Lab brings unmatched experience and capability to our global laboratory network,” said Frontage. “The acquisition further supports our role as a ‘one-stop shop’ in delivering high-quality drug development services to pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, contract research organizations, and research institutions worldwide.”

Teddy Lab has supported more than 1,500 clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas, operating under GCP-compliant standards and internationally accredited laboratory services. Its facilities are CAP-accredited, NGSP Level 1 certified, and qualified as a Class II Unsealed Radioactive Material Workplace, providing audit-ready lab services that meet global regulatory standards. Teddy Lab has also played a key role in regulatory inspections and contributed to the successful marketing approval of 50 new drugs.

With the acquisition, Frontage expands its central laboratory footprint in China, positioning the company to meet rising demand for both domestic and multi-regional clinical trials. By integrating Teddy Lab’s expertise with Frontage’s comprehensive platform—including bioanalytical, DMPK, safety and toxicology, CMC, and clinical trial support—Frontage aims to further solidify its position as a trusted partner in clinical research.

“We anticipate that our continued investment in expanding our global infrastructure and scientific capabilities will help us meet the evolving needs of the life sciences industry,” the company added.
