We are taking Ayurveda to the world as a sustainable healthcare solution: Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav
The 10th Ayurveda Day will be celebrated on September 23, 2025, at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, marking a historic milestone in the global promotion of India’s traditional system of medicine. The announcement was made by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush, and Minister of State, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, during his address at the Conference of Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Mount Abu, Rajasthan.
For the first time, Ayurveda Day will be observed on a fixed calendar date—September 23—breaking away from the earlier practice of aligning the celebration with Dhanvantari Jayanti. Hosting the main event at AIIA, Goa, highlights the state’s growing role as a global hub for wellness and holistic health.
Speaking on the occasion, Jadhav said: “Goa provides the perfect global stage for Ayurveda Day. With its international outlook and strong roots in wellness, Goa will amplify this year’s theme—‘Ayurveda for People & Planet’. We are not just celebrating a tradition; we are taking Ayurveda to the world as a sustainable solution for modern healthcare challenges.”
The 2025 theme underscores the Government of India’s vision to position Ayurveda as a sustainable and integrative healthcare system, addressing both human well-being and environmental balance. The All India Institute of Ayurveda, Goa—an advanced institute under the Ministry of Ayush—has been chosen as the venue to reflect India’s commitment to world-class infrastructure, research, and global collaborations in traditional medicine.
Continuing the tradition of large-scale participation, the Ministry of Ayush has planned extensive nationwide events across states and union territories, coupled with a strong international outreach through Indian Missions abroad, leading universities, wellness organizations, and diaspora networks. Building on last year’s record participation from over 150 countries, Ayurveda Day 2025 aims to engage even wider audiences worldwide, reaffirming India’s leadership in holistic and traditional health systems.
This landmark celebration also aligns with India’s broader cultural and diplomatic engagement, projecting Ayurveda as not only a timeless Indian science but also as an evidence-based, people-centric, and planet-friendly healthcare model for the modern world.
