The certification elevates the site’s global regulatory status, opening doors to European and other highly regulated markets
Hikal Limited has secured a Certificate of GMP Compliance from Swissmedic for its active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The approval from the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products confirms that the life sciences partner meets the rigorous Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements mandated by the Mutual Recognition Agreement between the European Union and Switzerland. This certification strengthens Hikal’s positioning as a trusted global supplier across the pharmaceutical, crop protection, animal health, and specialty chemical sectors.
The facility earned its Swissmedic certification right after passing audits from Japan's PMDA and Brazil's ANVISA. These consecutive approvals boost the site's credibility with international health authorities, expand its reach to clients in strict global markets, and help the company spread out its pharma operations to protect against global trade shifts.
