The Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) will convene its 11th Advanced GMP (AGMP) Workshop under the theme “Raising the Standard: GMP Quality Systems for the Next Decade,” focusing on how pharmaceutical quality systems must evolve alongside digitalisation, advanced manufacturing and changing regulatory expectations.
The workshop will bring together key regulators and industry leaders, including Gregory Smith, Country Director, India Office, US FDA; Dr Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), CDSCO; and Nilesh Gupta, Managing Director, Lupin Ltd. and Chair, IPA Quality Forum, along with quality leaders from across the pharmaceutical industry.
The discussions will examine how quality systems can move beyond compliance to become more predictive, risk-based and capable of learning from manufacturing experience, while embedding quality into emerging technologies and new ways of working.
Sudarshan Jain, Secretary General, Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA), said India's global pharmaceutical standing has been built on its manufacturing capabilities and commitment to quality. As technology, manufacturing practices and regulatory expectations evolve, he said quality systems must evolve accordingly.
Jain added that the AGMP Workshop provides a platform for regulators and industry to share experiences and shape quality practices for the coming decade.
He also highlighted IPA's Pharmaceutical Academy for Global Excellence (PAGE), which provides training and capacity-building for pharmaceutical companies, MSMEs and pharmacy students.
“Quality is not just a regulatory requirement; it is a fundamental license to operate in the pharmaceutical sector,”Jain said.
