iPHEX 2026 will focus on connecting Indian companies with buyers across markets
The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) aims to generate US$ 1.4 billion in export opportunities at iPHEX 2026. This initiative supports Indian pharma companies in expanding their global footprint and securing new international clients. The focus comes as India’s pharmaceutical exports recorded approximately 6.8% growth during the first quarter of FY27 over the corresponding period of FY26.
The 12th edition of iPHEX will take place from 7–9 September at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, organized by Pharmexcil with support from India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
iPHEX 2026 will focus on connecting Indian companies with buyers across markets and converting these interactions into export opportunities. Structured buyer–seller meetings will enable Indian manufacturers and exporters to engage directly with international companies around product sourcing, supply partnerships, contract manufacturing and other forms of commercial engagement.
The Q1 performance also comes against a complex global trade environment, reinforcing the importance of expanding India’s pharmaceutical presence across markets and product categories. These trends will form an important context for iPHEX 2026, where Indian companies will showcase capabilities across formulations, APIs, biologicals, vaccines, biosimilars, contract manufacturing and medical devices.
For Indian MSMEs in particular, the international buyer participation is expected to provide direct access to markets and procurement networks that can otherwise take considerable time and resources to develop. Companies will be able to present their capabilities, understand market-specific requirements and explore the commercial viability of entering or expanding into different geographies.
Namit Joshi, Chairman, Pharmexcil, said, “The growth in pharmaceutical exports reflects the strength of Indian companies across products and markets. The opportunity now is to build on this base by expanding our engagement with international customers and identifying areas where Indian capabilities can meet demand across geographies. iPHEX 2026 is designed to facilitate that engagement and create opportunities for Indian companies to develop business relationships with overseas customers.”
Bhavin Mehta, Vice Chairman, Pharmexcil, said, “India already has significant manufacturing capabilities across formulations, APIs, vaccines, biosimilars and other pharmaceutical segments. The next opportunity is to connect these capabilities with demand emerging across different international markets. Direct engagement with buyers gives companies, particularly MSMEs, a better understanding of what individual markets require and where they can compete effectively.”
Raja Bhanu, Director General, Pharmexcil, said, “We are placing business engagement at the centre of iPHEX 2026. The buyer–seller meetings are being structured to enable focused discussions around sourcing requirements, products and potential partnerships. The objective is to create conversations that participating companies and buyers can take forward into commercial engagements beyond the exhibition.”
Nipun Jain, Chairman, iPHEX, said, “Global pharma business is built as much on trust as it is on capability. iPHEX brings both sides of that equation together Indian companies ready to expand and international buyers looking for credible partners. Our intent is to move the engagement from converse to convert: from understanding a buyer’s requirement to finding the right Indian partner and taking that discussion towards business. And when these partnerships succeed, they become the strongest way to communicate the capability of Indian pharma to the next market.”
