Exclusive licensing agreement combines Lonza’s dual-payload ADC technology with Antharis’ antibody engineering expertise

Lonza and Antharis Therapeutics have entered into an exclusive, target-specific licensing agreement to develop next-generation dual-payload antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) aimed at treating gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. The will further strengthen efforts to address unmet needs in oncology through innovative targeted therapies.

The partnership brings together Lonza’s clinically validated dual-payload ADC technology platform and Antharis Therapeutics’ expertise in antibody engineering, target biology, and translational research.

The companies aim to develop highly differentiated ADC candidates with the potential to improve treatment outcomes across multiple cancer indications.

Under the terms of the agreement, Antharis Therapeutics will gain access to Lonza’s proprietary dual-payload ADC platform, which enables the delivery of two distinct therapeutic payloads through a single antibody.

The approach is designed to enhance anti-tumor activity, address tumor heterogeneity, and potentially overcome mechanisms of drug resistance that often limit the effectiveness of conventional cancer therapies.

Jan Vertommen, Vice President of Commercial Development, Advanced Synthesis at Lonza, said the agreement highlights the potential of the company’s proprietary dual-payload technology to support the development of next-generation oncology therapies.

Raphael Ribeiro Pinaud, Chief Executive Officer of Antharis Therapeutics, said the partnership creates a powerful and differentiated approach to oncology drug development by combining advanced ADC technology with Antharis’ scientific expertise in antibody engineering, target biology, and translational medicine.
