Lupin Limited’s CSR arm, the Lupin Human Welfare & Research Foundation (Lupin Foundation), inaugurated two Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Corners in Karauli and Hindaun, Rajasthan.
The initiative aims to strengthen district-level screening and chronic disease management infrastructure.
The rollout is part of the Desh Bandhu Jan Aarogya Sewa Program (Lives Program) and forms the first phase of a broader plan to establish nine NCD Corners across five aspirational districts in Rajasthan. The next seven centers will be introduced in Jaisalmer, Baran, Dholpur, and Sirohi, creating a wider public-health network focused on lifestyle disease detection and long-term care.
The initiative aims to improve early diagnosis and sustained management of non-communicable diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, chronic respiratory disorders, and cardiovascular risks, which continue to drive a growing disease burden in India’s semi-urban and rural populations.
Each NCD Corner is being equipped with a strong frontline diagnostic toolkit, including digital blood pressure monitors, ECG machines, spirometers, glucometers, pulse oximeters, stadiometers, digital weighing scales, measuring tapes, and examination tables. This district-hospital strengthening approach is expected to improve screening efficiency and reduce delays in identifying high-risk patients.
Beyond infrastructure, the Lupin Foundation is also integrating an awareness and behavior-change layer, providing nursing staff with IEC material to support community outreach on lifestyle diseases, preventive care, healthy habits, and adherence to long-term treatment. This is strategically important because NCD management outcomes often depend as much on sustained patient behavior as on clinical intervention.
Dr Bhuvnesh Bansal, Deputy Controller, District Hospital, Karauli, said, “The establishment and upgradation of NCD Corners through this collaboration with Lupin Foundation is a significant step towards improving early diagnosis, timely treatment, and long-term care for patients."
Tushara Shankar, Head, CSR - Lupin and LHWRF, said, “At Lupin Foundation, our purpose is rooted in enabling healthier lives and building stronger communities. By advancing early diagnosis, sustained care, and patient awareness, we aim to create lasting health impact and a healthier future for communities across Rajasthan.”
