Revvity has launched the SuperFlex prenatal screening system, a compact, CE-IVDR certified immunoassay instrument aimed at making rapid, high-quality prenatal screening more accessible to lower-volume laboratories and clinics.

 

The company says the system is designed to address a longstanding access gap in screening for preeclampsia, a pregnancy complication affecting an estimated 2% to 8% of pregnancies worldwide. Rising maternal age, diabetes and hypertension are contributing to the growing global burden, while screening has traditionally been concentrated in high-throughput centralized laboratories.

 

SuperFlex is built around three features Revvity says are critical for decentralized and lower-volume testing: lower entry costs, simplified operation and flexible throughput.

 

The instrument requires just one annual maintenance service and is designed to avoid reagent wastage when sample volumes are low. Its user-friendly workflow is intended to reduce training requirements and can integrate with Revvity’s LifeCycle software for risk assessment and LIMS data transfer.

 

The system also uses continuous sample loading and can deliver results in as little as 14 minutes per test, allowing laboratories to accommodate both urgent and routine testing.

Beyond preeclampsia screening, SuperFlex supports a test menu covering biochemical prenatal screening in both the first and second trimesters. Revvity said the random-access platform is designed to provide a flexible and cost-effective option for decentralized testing.

 

The SuperFlex platform will initially be available in markets that accept CE-marked instruments, with expansion into Asia-Pacific planned for late 2026.
