Backed by a multi-hundred-million-dollar investment, the expansion underscores Sanofi’s long-term commitment to India’s thriving life sciences ecosystem

Sanofi Healthcare has dramatically expanded its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, adding over 2.7 lakh square meters of state-of-the-art workspace within its existing campus in Hitech City — a move that cements the city’s growing stature as a global life sciences powerhouse.

The expansion, inaugurated in the presence of Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT, Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana, and senior Sanofi executives, will scale up the centre’s capacity from an earlier projection of around 2,600 employees to nearly 4,500. The move makes it one of Sanofi’s largest global talent concentrations and positions the site among India’s top three pharma GCCs.

Launched in 2024, Sanofi’s Hyderabad GCC stands out for its scale and breadth of expertise, supporting global end-to-end operations across AI, digital health, intelligent automation, research and development, medical affairs, finance, procurement, and commercial operations.

Backed by a multi-hundred-million-dollar investment, the expansion underscores Sanofi’s long-term commitment to India’s thriving life sciences ecosystem.

The Hyderabad hub, which began operations in 2019 with a primary focus on Medical Services, has grown into a future-forward global centre delivering best-in-class services across Sanofi’s worldwide network.

Designed with sustainability and inclusivity at its core, the campus reimagines the workplace as a hospitality-inspired environment that fosters collaboration, well-being and operational excellence across research, manufacturing and supply chains.

Madeleine Roach, EVP, Head of Business Operations, Sanofi, said, “As an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company, we never lose sight of what truly drives each of us - improving people's lives. Our operations at the Hyderabad GCC serve to support critical processes across the drug research, development, manufacturing and access lifecycle.

"India's exceptional talent pool in digital innovation, AI, and data science is instrumental in accelerating our transformation and advancing our mission. We look forward to further growing our capabilities and impact and partnering with Telangana as it continues to set new standards in life sciences innovation and global competitiveness.”

Congratulating Sanofi, Chief Minister of Telangana, Sri Revanth Reddy, said, “The expansion of Sanofi’s Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad reflects Telangana’s growing stature as a global hub for innovation-driven life sciences. We are proud that leading R&D-focused, AI-powered biopharma companies like Sanofi are choosing Hyderabad to anchor critical global capabilities.

"This growth strengthens our vision of creating high-skilled employment, accelerating digital and scientific innovation, and positioning Telangana among the world’s leading life sciences ecosystems.”

D Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT, Industries & Commerce, said while inaugurating the campus, “Sanofi’s expanded GCC underscores Hyderabad’s evolution from a manufacturing base to a strategic innovation and digital powerhouse for global biopharma. With deep capabilities in AI, data analytics, medical affairs, and enterprise operations, this centre represents the next generation of value creation in life sciences. Telangana remains committed to providing world-class infrastructure, policy stability, and talent ecosystems that enable global companies to scale with confidence.”

Mrinal Duggal, Head of Hyderabad Global Hub, Sanofi, added, “We have followed through on our commitment made in 2024 when we opened this campus. This expansion not only strengthens our global capabilities but also reinforces our dedication to empowering the local workforce, fostering innovation, and contributing meaningfully to Hyderabad's position as a premier destination for pharmaceutical and healthcare excellence.”
