Shukra Pharmaceuticals Ltd has approved a proposed change in its corporate identity to Shukra Medtech Limited as the company prepares to expand its business into the medical technology sector.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Board of Directors on August 22, 2026, and is subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Central Registration Centre (CRC) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Alongside the proposed name change, the board has approved amendments to the company's Main Objects Clause to include a broad range of medical technology businesses.
The proposed expansion covers the research, design, development, manufacturing and commercialisation of medical devices, diagnostic systems, surgical robotic systems, implantable and wearable devices, as well as AI-based healthcare technologies, hospital automation, telemedicine and digital health platforms.
The company also plans to explore manufacturing, distribution and trading of medical technology products in India and overseas, along with strategic alliances, joint ventures, licensing and technology-transfer arrangements with domestic and international partners.
The proposed business objects further include the development of Medical Technology Parks, R&D laboratories, incubation centres and clean-room manufacturing infrastructure. Shukra also intends to provide installation, maintenance and technical support services for medical devices and healthcare software.
The expanded objects would also enable the company to develop healthcare software, machine-learning applications, cloud platforms and cybersecurity solutions for the healthcare sector.
The name change and amendments to the Memorandum of Association will require shareholder approval through a postal ballot. The company has appointed CS Rupal Patel as scrutiniser for the e-voting process.
Separately, the board has convened Shukra Pharmaceuticals' 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) for September 25, 2026, through video conferencing.
