The move signals a major expansion milestone for the Swiss laboratory automation company
Tecan has launched direct operations in India, opening a new local sales and service hub in Gurugram, near New Delhi, marking a decisive push into one of the world’s fastest-growing life sciences markets.
The move signals a major expansion milestone for the Swiss laboratory automation company as it strengthens its global footprint in high-growth regions.
For more than a decade, Tecan has served Indian customers through its distributor partner Bioscreen. That relationship will continue, even as Tecan now adds a direct presence to deepen engagement and speed up local support.
The newly established Tecan India—incorporated on April 1, 2026—brings the company closer to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and diagnostic customers across the country, enabling more immediate collaboration and on-the-ground service.
Mukta Acharya, EVP and Head of Tecan’s Life Sciences business, said: “India is a key market for the future of life sciences, with strong momentum across CROs, pharma, biotech and diagnostics. Establishing a direct presence allows us to be closer to our customers, deepen collaboration and further strengthen the value we deliver locally.”
The expansion builds on Tecan’s 2024 entry into South Korea and forms part of a broader strategy to scale in fast-growing regions, as the company continues its focus on enabling global healthcare innovation and improving patient outcomes.
