Alembic Pharma elevates Karunanithi Ponnusamy as President of Animal Health Business

Pharma veteran with over three decades of industry experience to lead Alembic’s animal health growth and market expansion initiatives.

Karunanithi Ponnusamy has been promoted to President – Animal Health Business at Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited. Based in Mumbai, he assumes the leadership role after serving the organisation for more than 20 years, underscoring the company’s trust in his extensive industry knowledge and leadership capabilities.

In his new role, Ponnusamy will lead the company’s animal health division with a focus on strengthening market reach, accelerating strategic growth initiatives, and enhancing operational performance.

Ponnusamy joined Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited in 2003 as Vice President and has since contributed significantly to the company’s business expansion and commercial growth. Prior to joining Alembic, he worked with Wockhardt Ltd. as Zonal Sales Manager, where he gained extensive experience in sales and business leadership.

With a career spanning more than 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, his elevation represents another key milestone in his long-standing contribution to healthcare and animal health.
