As the Clinical Head of Oncology Network, he lead a team of over 25 specialised oncologists


Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited (AHEL) has appointed Dr Harit Kumar Chaturvedi as the Chief Executive Officer and Clinical Head of the Apollo Oncology Network, marking a strategic leadership move to strengthen its cancer care footprint across India.

A highly respected surgical oncologist with nearly four decades of experience, Dr Chaturvedi returns to Apollo, bringing deep clinical expertise and institutional leadership.

He will lead a team of over 25 specialised oncologists within the Apollo Oncology Network, which comprises more than 400 oncologists nationwide. 

Dr Chaturvedi holds an MBBS, MS in General Surgery, and MCh in Surgical Oncology, and has managed complex malignancies spanning head and neck, breast, thoracic, gastrointestinal, and gynaecological cancers. He is particularly known for his work in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, as well as radiofrequency ablation techniques. Over his career, he has been instrumental in developing one of North India’s leading cancer care ecosystems, introducing organ-specific units, multidisciplinary tumour boards, and collaborative research models.

He also played a key role in advancing oncology platforms in India, serving as organising secretary of the Indian Cancer Congress 2013, a landmark event that set new benchmarks for cancer collaboration.
