Dr. Chand held several leadership positions within AstraZeneca and the broader biopharmaceutical industry
Vikram Chand is appointed as Senior Vice President (SVP), Head of Research and Development (R&D) for Japan at AstraZeneca.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Chand held several leadership positions within AstraZeneca and the broader biopharmaceutical industry. He worked as Vice President, Global Franchise Head from 2022–2025 where he led the development and clinical strategy for oncology assets, specifically focusing on Datopotamab Deruxtecan. He also worked as Global Product Leader and managed oncology portfolios from Gaithersburg, Maryland at AstraZeneca.
He is a trained medical oncologist and hematologist with over 15 years of industry experience, including previous roles at EMD Serono and Boehringer Ingelheim.
