Sapra brings more than 23 years of experience at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, where he most recently served as CEO of API Services
Gland Pharma Limited has appointed Deepak Sapra as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 16, 2026.
In the role, Sapra will oversee the company's overall strategy, work to strengthen business performance, and drive sustainable growth across Gland Pharma's pharmaceutical operations.
Sapra brings more than two decades of experience spanning pharmaceuticals, global generics, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), business leadership, portfolio management, sales, marketing, and supply chain management.
He joins Gland Pharma after more than 23 years at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, where he most recently served as CEO of API Services. During his tenure there, he also held senior leadership roles including Senior Vice President & Global Business Head and Vice President & Global Business Head, taking on responsibilities across global generics, portfolio management, sales, marketing, and supply chain functions.
Sapra has additionally served as a board member at Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services Limited.
Notably, Sapra's professional journey did not begin in pharmaceuticals. He started his career with Indian Railways as a Divisional Mechanical Engineer — an engineering foundation that has since complemented his extensive business and pharmaceutical leadership experience.
The appointment places an executive with deep API and global generics expertise at the helm of Gland Pharma, a company with a significant manufacturing and export footprint in injectables and complex generics.
Sapra's background leading API Services at one of India's largest pharmaceutical companies, combined with his supply chain and portfolio management experience, positions him to focus on strengthening operational performance and growth strategy as he takes over leadership in November.
