Based in London, Chima brings more than 16 years of commercial experience across the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors.
Jay joins Symbiosis from Recipharm, where he served as Business Development Director. Earlier, he held senior commercial positions at MedPharm and Advanz Pharma, working with customers ranging from emerging biotechnology companies to global pharmaceutical groups.
At Symbiosis, Chima will work across the commercial organisation to strengthen existing customer relationships, develop new strategic partnerships and provide market insights to support the company’s growth and future investment plans.
“The pharmaceutical market is undergoing significant change. We're seeing sustained growth in biologics, advanced therapies and increasingly specialised medicines, all of which require manufacturing partners with deep technical expertise, strong regulatory foundations and the flexibility to support programmes at every stage of development,” said Chima.
He added that Symbiosis’ combination of technical capability, delivery track record, agility and customer focus was a key factor behind his decision to join the company.

The appointment comes as Symbiosis advances a £26 million expansion programme aimed at increasing sterile manufacturing capacity, enhancing technical capabilities and strengthening infrastructure for a broader range of clinical and commercial manufacturing programmes.
Chima said the company was well positioned to support innovation across the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in areas involving medicines with the potential to improve patient outcomes.
