Syngene appoints Maninder Kapoor Puri as CHRO and Abhijit Zutshi as CCO

Both join the leading CRDMO’s executive committee to drive global people strategy and commercial expansion

Syngene International, a global contract research, development, and manufacturing organization (CRDMO), has appointed Maninder Kapoor Puri as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Abhijit (Abhi) Zutshi as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective May 1, 2026.

Maninder Kapoor Puri brings nearly three decades of global HR leadership experience across biopharmaceuticals, IT services, and consulting. Her career spans North America, EMEA, and APAC, where she has worked closely with CEOs and boards to drive large-scale organisational transformation, leadership development, and culture building aligned with business growth.

Prior to joining Syngene, she served as CHRO at Biocon, where she led enterprise-wide culture and leadership transformation. At Syngene, she will lead the global people strategy as part of the Executive Committee, focusing on strengthening organisational capability to support the company’s next growth phase.

Abhijit Zutshi joins as Chief Commercial Officer and will be based in the United States. He will also serve on the Executive Committee, where he will oversee Syngene’s global commercial functions, including sales, client partnerships, marketing, brand development, digital initiatives, and account management.

With nearly 27 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, Zutshi spent 25 years at Biocon, most recently serving as CCO of its generics business. In that role, he led drug substance and drug product divisions and built global commercial teams focused on generic formulations.
