In his new role, Curtis will lead the formulation and execution of the company’s global technical strategy
Vision Engineering Group announced the appointment of Harry Curtis as Technical Director, effective April 1, 2026. With this elevation, Curtis also becomes a member of the company’s Board of Directors, marking a significant step in strengthening the group’s global technical leadership.
In his new role, Curtis will lead the formulation and execution of the company’s global technical strategy. He will continue to oversee key verticals including Vision Technology Partnerships, Vision Optics and Vision TriTeQ, ensuring alignment between innovation, product development and strategic growth.
Curtis brings a strong engineering and innovation background, holding a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from University of Southampton. Since joining Vision Engineering, he has held multiple roles across geographies, including technical support for North America, Product Development Engineer, and Design Project Manager in the UK. Most recently, as Head of Technology Exploitation, he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s market footprint and building high-value collaborations with niche technology partners.
The leadership transition also signals a strategic evolution within the organisation. Graham Mercer, the outgoing Group Design and Development Director, will assume the role of Executive Director, Design and Research Concepts. While continuing on the Board, Mercer will now focus on advancing concept development and driving the creation of patentable, competitive technologies.
Vision Engineering Ltd is a UK designer and manufacturer of patented ergonomic stereo optical and digital instruments, used for inspection, manipulation, measurement, and analysis of manufactured parts, by many of the world’s leading manufacturers and their extended supply chains.
"Harry’s appointment to the Board marks an exciting new chapter for our technical leadership," said Mark Curtis, Group CEO of Vision Engineering. "His blend of international experience and proven success in technology exploitation makes him the ideal person to drive our future strategy. We are also delighted that Graham Mercer will continue to lend his immense experience to our research concepts, ensuring we remain at the forefront of optical innovation."
