Cadila Pharmaceuticals hosted Alexander Ruppel, Deputy Governor of Russia’s Krasnodar Region, at its corporate facility in Bhat-Dholka, Gujarat, as the company and the visiting delegation explored opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.
The delegation held discussions with senior Cadila Pharmaceuticals executives on potential areas of collaboration, including trade opportunities, international market access, technical exchange and the development of healthcare solutions for global markets.
The engagement focused on strengthening pharmaceutical supply chains between India and Russia and exploring opportunities to expand exports and market access.
Both sides also discussed the importance of dependable healthcare supply chains to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential medicines across international markets.
Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh, Assistant Vice President and Head of Representation – Russia, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, said the visit could open new avenues for strategic cooperation between the two countries.
“We are honored to host the Russian delegation and explore deeper strategic alignment between India and Russia. This visit opens vital pathways to broaden international export footprint and address evolving global healthcare demands for both countries,” Singh said.
Alexander Ruppel, Deputy Governor of the Krasnodar Region, said the engagement could help strengthen economic and diplomatic ties between India and Russia while creating opportunities for pharmaceutical collaboration.
He said India’s pharmaceutical capabilities are globally recognised and highlighted the potential for the two countries to explore each other’s markets through localised production and joint ventures.
Ruppel also identified biosimilars, vaccines and active pharmaceutical ingredients as potential areas for cooperation, saying such partnerships could help unlock market opportunities and support long-term healthcare innovation.
The discussions come as pharmaceutical companies and governments increasingly seek to strengthen resilient and diversified supply chains for medicines and pharmaceutical ingredients.
Cadila Pharmaceuticals said the visit concluded with both sides reaffirming their interest in developing actionable areas of collaboration through mutual investment, technical expertise and market access.
The company said deeper India-Russia cooperation in pharmaceuticals could create opportunities for expanding affordable healthcare solutions while supporting trade and investment between the two countries.
