Digital platform records over 1.34 crore beneficiary registrations with QR-enabled MCH cards and real-time monitoring features

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched JANANI (Journey of Antenatal, Natal and Neonatal Integrated Care) to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services across India.

The initiative was unveiled during the National Summit on Innovation and Inclusivity – Best Practices Shaping India’s Health Future.

Developed as an upgraded version of the existing RCH portal, JANANI is a service-oriented digital platform designed to create longitudinal health records for women during their reproductive age by digitally tracking healthcare delivery across the maternal and child care continuum.

According to the Ministry, JANANI has already achieved over 1.34 crore beneficiary registrations, including more than 30 lakh pregnant women registrations and 30 lakh digital MCH cards generated. The platform has also completed over 1 lakh biometric verifications.

The platform enables monitoring of antenatal care, delivery preparedness, childbirth, postnatal care, newborn care, home-based newborn and young child care, and family planning services, helping ensure continuity of care and timely interventions.

A key feature of the platform is the introduction of QR-enabled digital Mother and Child Health (MCH) Cards, allowing portability and easier access to health records. JANANI also includes automated alerts for high-risk pregnancies, real-time dashboards for monitoring, and due-list generation to support targeted healthcare interventions.
