Collaboration integrates MERCURIUS DRUG-seq technologies with Revvity’s screening portfolio, enabling scalable transcriptomic profiling for next-generation drug discovery and AI-driven research

Alithea Genomics has entered into a strategic agreement with Revvity Inc. to expand global access to its MERCURIUS DRUG-seq and MERCURIUS Total DRUG-seq platforms, strengthening the integration of transcriptomics into modern drug discovery and functional genomics research.

The collaboration combines Alithea Genomics’ scalable RNA sequencing technologies with Revvity’s broad portfolio of drug discovery and screening solutions, providing researchers with enhanced capabilities to generate deeper biological insights from large-scale screening programs.

As pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies increasingly adopt multi-omics approaches to accelerate drug development, the partnership aims to address growing demand for high-throughput transcriptomic profiling that can be seamlessly incorporated into phenotypic screening, functional genomics, and artificial intelligence-driven discovery workflows.

MERCURIUS DRUG-seq enables scalable 3′ mRNA expression profiling, adding a valuable molecular dimension to phenotypic and perturbation-based screening studies.

While technologies such as high-content imaging and cell painting reveal how cells respond to various biological or chemical perturbations, DRUG-seq provides complementary information on the underlying gene expression changes driving those responses.

The collaboration also includes access to MERCURIUS Total DRUG-seq, which expands transcriptomic analysis capabilities through full-length total RNA sequencing at screening scale.

The platform supports pathway-level investigations, target identification and validation, mechanism-of-action studies, and research applications where transcript isoforms, RNA structures, and broader RNA biotypes play an important role.

Riccardo Dainese, Chief Business Officer and Co-founder of Alithea Genomics, said the agreement significantly expands global access to the company's transcriptomics technologies while enabling researchers to combine scalable RNA sequencing with advanced phenotypic and functional genomics workflows.

Craig Monell, Senior Vice President of Life Science Reagents at Revvity, noted that the addition of MERCURIUS DRUG-seq and MERCURIUSTotal DRUG-seq provides researchers with a scalable approach to incorporating transcriptomic context into screening studies, helping them prioritize drug candidates, investigate mechanisms of action, and generate richer datasets for downstream analysis.
