The approval paves the way for GenSci to launch CAMCEVI 42 mg in China
Foresee Pharmaceuticals has secured a key regulatory milestone in China, with the country’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approving CAMCEVI 42 mg for the treatment of adults with advanced prostate cancer.
The company announced that its licensing partner, Changchun GeneScience Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (GenSci), notified Foresee of the approval of the Marketing Authorization Application (MAA) for the ready-to-use, six-month subcutaneous depot formulation of leuprolide mesylate.
The approval paves the way for GenSci to launch CAMCEVI 42 mg in China, strengthening Foresee’s global commercial expansion strategy for the product.
Ben Chien, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Foresee Pharmaceuticals stated: "We are pleased that our partner GenSci will be launching CAMCEVI 42 mg in China. These efforts will significantly contribute to the growth of our global CAMCEVI franchise."
CAMCEVI is exclusively licensed to GenSci for commercialization in China across current and pipeline indications, including advanced prostate cancer, central precocious puberty (CPP) and premenopausal breast cancer.
The latest approval adds to GenSci’s regulatory efforts to expand the treatment’s potential applications in China. In May 2026, the company submitted a supplemental New Drug Application (sNDA) for leuprolide mesylate injectable emulsion for the additional indication of premenopausal breast cancer. The NMPA has accepted the application for substantive review.
CAMCEVI 42 mg is a sustained-release, ready-to-use subcutaneous formulation of leuprolide mesylate, a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist. Designed to provide six months of treatment per dose, it offers a less-frequent dosing alternative to existing therapies.
With the China approval, Foresee and GenSci are advancing the product’s commercial reach in a major market while pursuing additional indications that could further expand the CAMCEVI franchise.
