Integrated eCOA technology and rater training aim to reduce variability and strengthen ClinRO outcomes
Kayentis and RWS announced a strategic partnership to enhance the quality and reliability of clinical outcomes data in complex trials, particularly in Central Nervous System (CNS) studies.
The collaboration combines Kayentis’ electronic Clinical Outcome Assessment (eCOA) platform with RWS’ specialist rater training services to address variability in clinician-reported outcomes (ClinRO).
CNS trials are often challenged by long durations, complex assessment scales, and vulnerable patient populations, increasing the risk of inconsistent data. The partnership aims to tackle this issue by aligning clinician training, certification, and monitoring with standardized digital data capture workflows.
Guillaume Juge, CEO of Kayentis, said that capturing digital data alone is not sufficient without ensuring its reliability, adding that the integrated approach improves confidence in trial outcomes. Dan Herron, Global Vice President, Digital Health at RWS, noted that the collaboration directly connects rater training expertise with real-world data capture environments.
The joint solution integrates training, certification, and access-controlled data capture into a unified workflow, ensuring that only qualified clinicians conduct specific assessments. This approach is designed to improve consistency across trial sites, strengthen endpoint reliability, and support inspection-ready datasets.
The partnership also aims to streamline operations for sponsors and contract research organizations by reducing vendor complexity while maintaining high data quality standards. It formalizes a long-standing collaboration between the two companies and builds on recent investments in CNS-focused capabilities and platform enhancements.
The combined offering is now available globally for sponsors and CROs conducting CNS and other complex clinical trials.
