Q1 revenue rises 11.3%, EBITDA climbs 16.4%

Bajaj Healthcare, a leading manufacturer of APIs, intermediates and formulations, has reported a robust start to FY27, with strong year-on-year growth across key financial metrics for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The company posted revenue from operations of Rs. 165.6 crore in Q1 FY27, marking an 11.3% YoY growth and an 8.2% sequential increase. Improved product mix and operational efficiencies helped drive profitability, with gross profit rising 16.2% YoY to Rs. 80.4 crore and gross margin expanding to 48.3% from 46.2% in Q1 FY26.

Bajaj Healthcare’s EBITDA increased 16.4% YoY to Rs. 29.6 crore, with EBITDA margin improving to 17.8% from 17.1% in the corresponding quarter last year. Profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs. 13.7 crore, registering a 15.8% YoY growth, while PAT margin was reported at 8.3%.

The company’s API segment remained a key growth engine during the quarter. Domestic API sales surged to Rs. 92.3 crore, up nearly 27% YoY from Rs. 72.6 crore in Q1 FY26, supported by strong volume growth across major products.

API exports stood at Rs. 50.1 crore during the quarter compared with Rs. 52.2 crore in Q1 FY26. The company said exports were impacted by temporary disruptions arising from geopolitical developments in West Asia.

The formulations business recorded revenue of Rs. 23.3 crore during the quarter compared with Rs. 24.1 crore in Q1 FY26, reflecting a temporary moderation. Bajaj Healthcare expects the segment’s performance to normalize as FY27 progresses.

During the quarter, Bajaj Healthcare achieved a significant regulatory milestone by becoming the first company in India to secure SEC recommendation for the manufacture and marketing of Cenobamate Tablets. The approval marks an important step towards commercialization of the next-generation anti-seizure medication used for treating partial-onset seizures in adults.

The company also filed two CEP applications during the quarter, taking cumulative CEP filings to 12. Of these, eight CEPs have already been approved, while four remain under review, strengthening Bajaj Healthcare’s presence in regulated markets, including the European Union and the United Kingdom.

Anil Jain, Managing Director said, “We have commenced FY27 on a positive note, delivering healthy growth across key financial parameters. In Q1 FY27, revenue from operations grew 11.3% YoY, while improved product mix contributed to gross margin expansion to 48.3% from 46.2% in Q1 FY26.

"EBITDA increased 16.4% YoY, with EBITDA margin improving to 17.8%, reflecting the strength of our operational capabilities and disciplined execution. Profit after tax also recorded healthy growth of 15.8 % YoY.

"Our API division delivered a strong performance during the quarter, recording 14.0% YoY growth and 13.5% sequential growth, driven by healthy demand across the business. While the formulations segment witnessed a marginal decline during the quarter, we expect the business mix to gradually normalize as FY27 progresses and market conditions improve."
