Amaha, an integrated mental healthcare organisation, is set to close a Rs 100 crore fundraise to expand its hospital and clinic network, strengthen clinical capabilities and widen access to specialist mental healthcare across India.
The funding round brings together existing investors Lightbox Ventures and Fireside Ventures, alongside London-based life skills platform Sandbox International Holdings Limited (SIHL), Nithin Kamath through Rainmatter, and the family offices of Shreyas Shibulal, Ashish Bharat Ram and Adarsh Jalan. The round also includes Rs 10 crore in debt financing from Alteria Capital.
The fresh capital will fuel Amaha’s next phase of expansion, including the launch of new hospitals and clinics in key Indian cities. The company will also strengthen its clinical teams and invest in the technology and infrastructure needed to deliver specialist mental healthcare to more individuals and families.
Amit Malik, Psychiatrist, Founder and CEO of Amaha, said: “Over the years, working with lakhs of individuals and families, we have seen how important it is for people living with mental illness to get the right care at the right time, with their families supported along the way.
"At Amaha, we have built an integrated model that brings together specialised online consultations, outpatient care and hospital-based treatment, delivered by our in-house team of expert psychiatrists and psychologists, to make mental healthcare more accessible.
"Our focus now is on deepening our clinical expertise and further building the infrastructure and systems needed to make evidence-based specialist mental healthcare accessible to more individuals and families across India, while maintaining high quality of treatment.”
As it scales its network, Amaha plans to invest further in clinical training and supervision, expand its range of evidence-based treatments and strengthen protocols to maintain consistent standards of care across its services.
Technology will also be a key investment area. Amaha plans to develop AI-enabled tools to support triage and clinicians, alongside data analytics to help clinical teams coordinate treatment, track patient outcomes and improve care delivery.
These investments are aimed at enabling more personalised, evidence-based treatment across Amaha’s digital, outpatient and hospital-based services.
The expansion comes amid evidence of significant delays in accessing professional mental healthcare.
Amaha’s Mental Health Report 2026, based on responses from 13,825 people about their mental health, experiences of distress and efforts to seek professional support, found that 53% of respondents had lived with mental health concerns for more than a year before seeking professional help.
The report also found that 94.9% experienced two or more mental health concerns simultaneously, highlighting the complexity of the challenges many people face.
The findings underscore the need for timely access to specialist assessment and continued treatment, reinforcing the importance of expanding mental healthcare infrastructure and improving access to evidence-based services.
With the planned fundraise, Amaha aims to scale its integrated care model while strengthening the clinical expertise, systems and infrastructure required to serve more individuals and families across India.
