Orbis India Country Director recognized by the Lions Council of India for efforts to expand access to quality eye care among underserved communities.
Orbis India Country Director Dr. Rishi Raj Borah has been conferred the prestigious Champions of Change Award for Leadership in Humanitarian Service by the Lions Council of India.
The award recognizes his significant contributions to advancing equitable healthcare access, community welfare, and social development through transformative eye care initiatives.
The award honors leaders whose work has created meaningful and lasting societal impact through service, innovation, and leadership.
Dr. Borah was recognized for his sustained efforts to improve access to quality eye care across India, particularly for underserved and vulnerable communities, while promoting inclusive and sustainable healthcare solutions.
Under his leadership, Orbis India has expanded its efforts to prevent avoidable blindness and vision loss through programs focused on strengthening eye care systems, building healthcare workforce capacity, and improving access to quality vision care services.
The organization has collaborated with hospitals, healthcare professionals, government institutions, and community organizations to develop sustainable models that enhance eye health outcomes and broaden access to eye care services across the country.
