The Indo-Japan venture aims to support IVF laboratories and fertility centres in improving the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of genomic testing, contributing to the continued evolution of India's assisted reproduction ecosystem

DSS Takara Bio India is strengthening support for reproductive genomics by providing advanced molecular biology reagents and next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflow solutions that enable reliable genomic analysis for IVF laboratories.

DSS Takara Bio India, a joint venture between DSS Imagetech Pvt. Ltd. and Takara Bio Inc., Japan, works with research institutions, genomics laboratories, and NGS service providers across the country to support reproductive genomics applications through standardised and reproducible genomic workflows.

As the demand forAssisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) continues to grow, IVF laboratories require reliable technologies capable of generating high-quality genomic data from limited embryo biopsy DNA samples.

Such genomic analysis supports embryo genetic assessment, helping embryologists and clinicians make informed decisions during in vitro fertilisation (IVF) procedures.

Harkaran Dhingra, CEO, DSS Takara Bio India, said, "As more IVF centres collaborate with specialised genomics laboratories, the demand for reliable genomic testing workflows continues to grow. At DSS Takara Bio India, we provide advanced molecular biology reagents, Whole Genome Amplification (WGA) technologies and NGS workflow solutions that support reproductive genomics applications, including Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A).”

The company's reproductive genomics portfolio includes the PicoPLEX Whole Genome Amplification (WGA) Kit, designed to deliver robust whole genome amplification from low-input samples such as embryo biopsy specimens, and the Embgenix PGT-A Kit, which supports comprehensive NGS-based workflows for Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A).

Dhingra added, "The future of reproductive medicine will increasingly depend on a strong reproductive genomics ecosystem. Our goal is to expand access to advanced molecular biology reagents and NGS workflow solutions, enabling IVF laboratories and fertility research centres across India to perform reliable, high-quality genomic analysis."
