State to host GWC 2026 in Bengaluru, bringing together AYUSH, modern medicine, nutrition, yoga and preventive healthcare to promote holistic wellbeing and position the state as a global health destination
Karnataka Health Minister U.T. Khader has outlined an ambitious vision to position the state as a global destination for health, immunity and holistic wellbeing, as the state prepares to host the Global Wellbeing Confluence (GWC) 2026 in Bengaluru.
Speaking at the GWC 2026 Leaders Talk, organised in association with AYUSH TV, Khader emphasised the need for greater public awareness around food choices, eating habits and lifestyle factors that influence long-term health.
The Minister highlighted recent enforcement initiatives covering five-star hotels, clubs, hospitals, bakeries, sweet outlets and pharmaceutical establishments, stressing the importance of stronger public vigilance and responsible health practices.
A key initiative announced at the event was Women as Wellbeing Ambassadors, aimed at empowering women to promote healthier lifestyles within families and communities.
Khader also inaugurated “AYUSH Life Immunity Prasadam – One Meal a Day”, an initiative promoting seasonal vegetables, fruits and natural foods as part of an immunity-focused lifestyle. The event also saw the release of 10 principles for an immunity-enriched lifestyle, offering a simple framework for preventive health and wellbeing.
The Global Wellbeing Confluence 2026 is scheduled to take place from October 23-26, 2026, at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru. Organisers expect participation from more than 15,000 AYUSH and modern medicine doctors, along with healthcare professionals, wellness experts, institutions and the public.
The previous edition, held in April 2025, attracted nearly 5,000 AYUSH doctors and around 45,000 visitors, according to the organisers.
The AYUSH Federation of India is the official partner for GWC 2026, with associate partnerships from organisations including the Akhila Karnataka Rajya Sarkari Mahila Noukarara Sangha, Karnataka Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers Association and Indian Naturopathy & Yoga Graduates Medical Association.
The launch event was attended by Hari Krishna M., Managing Director, AYUSH TV; A. Jayasimha, Chairman, Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board; Pavan Ramesh of AYUSH TV, and representatives from the healthcare and wellbeing sectors.
GWC 2026 aims to bring AYUSH, modern medicine, nutrition, naturopathy, yoga and preventive healthcare onto a common platform, with organisers positioning Karnataka as a potential model for healthy and sustainable living in India and globally.
