UIDAI-based consent-driven identity verification aims to reduce paperwork, curb fraud and enable faster claims processing across insurers, TPAs and healthcare providers.

Framework into its health benefits platforms after becoming a registered Offline Verification Seeking Entity (OVSE), enabling secure, consent-based identity verification across healthcare services.

The integration is designed to simplify member access to health insurance benefits while reducing paperwork, preventing identity misuse and minimising document-related fraud.

Built on UIDAI's Aadhaar Offline Verification Framework, the capability enables members to verify their identity digitally with explicit consent, sharing only the information required for a specific transaction.

The process eliminates the need for photocopies or physical identity documents, helping improve privacy while making identity verification faster and more secure.

The company said location information captured during the verification process will also help validate that healthcare interactions are genuine, ensuring that health insurance benefits are accessed only by the intended beneficiary.

For insurers and employers, the solution is expected to strengthen identity assurance, reduce manual documentation, accelerate claims processing and improve trust across the healthcare benefits ecosystem.

Medi Assist said the Aadhaar Offline Verification capability will also be extended to third-party administrators (TPAs), insurance companies and pension funds that use its technology platforms, expanding the adoption of secure, consent-based digital identity verification across the broader healthcare ecosystem.

"Health insurance depends on trust—that benefits reach the people they are intended for, securely and without unnecessary friction. Our integration with UIDAI's Aadhaar Offline Verification Framework strengthens this assurance by enabling consent-based identity verification across key healthcare journeys," said Satish Gidugu, Chief Executive Officer, Medi Assist Group.
