The campaign aims to shift the narrative around obesity by replacing stigma and judgement with education, inspiration, and evidence-based awareness
With obesity emerging as one of India's most pressing public health challenges, Namita Thapar has launched Fight Against Obesity, a social media-led awareness initiative under her wellness brand, Arth by Emcure, to promote informed conversations around obesity, nutrition, and sustainable weight management.
The campaign aims to shift the narrative around obesity by replacing stigma and judgement with education, inspiration, and evidence-based awareness.
It will feature leading doctors, health experts, and fitness advocates sharing practical advice, dispelling common myths, and simplifying discussions on obesity, metabolism, nutrition, and long-term weight management through short-form digital content.
Namita Thapar, Founder, Arth by Emcure, said, "Obesity is a global challenge, and Arth is committed to this cause. I am personally interviewing top doctors of the country so we can educate and make a difference. The nice part is that the education will be through 30-second videos, making it fun and not preachy."
The campaign is supported by Arth's Bitter Drops, a pre-meal supplement formulated with 14 natural bitter herbs that is designed to support weight management by helping reduce food cravings.
The initiative comes amid growing concerns over the rising prevalence of obesity in India. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), nearly 30% of women and 27% of men in the country are overweight or obese. Beyond increasing the risk of chronic diseases, obesity can also impact self-confidence, relationships, career prospects, and overall quality of life.
Through Fight Against Obesity, Arth by Emcure seeks to encourage healthier lifestyles by making credible health information more accessible and engaging for a wider audience.
