New acne treatment claims visible improvement within 24 hours while protecting the skin barrier
OZiva, India's clean and plant-based wellness and beauty brand, has expanded its skincare portfolio with the launch of the OZiva Acne Spot Corrector, a clinically studied, plant-powered formulation designed to target active acne within 24 hours without drying the skin or compromising its natural barrier.
The company said the product addresses growing consumer demand for gentler acne treatments as many conventional solutions rely on acid-based ingredients such as salicylic acid, which may cause dryness and skin barrier damage.
According to Dr. Ratna Upadhyay, Senior Manager – Research & Development at OZiva, the Acne Spot Corrector has been developed to target multiple biological factors associated with acne, including excess sebum production, inflammation, follicular congestion, microbiome imbalance and post-acne pigmentation.
"With OZiva Spot Corrector, our goal was to develop a next-generation acne correction formula that addresses the multiple biological drivers of acne. Clinically benchmarked against conventional salicylic acid-led acne care, the plant-powered formulation demonstrated a 60% reduction in acne over four weeks compared to approximately 23.8% with conventional salicylic acid benchmarks,” she said.
The company added that the product was clinically evaluated on Indian acne-prone skin, where it demonstrated a 25.72% reduction in overall acne severity within seven days, with all study participants reporting visible improvement.
The clinical evaluation included both male and female participants.
OZiva said the product also received positive feedback from users, including acne advocate and content creator Prableen Kaur Bhomrah, prior to its commercial launch.
