Analysis of 20 million diagnostic tests shows women now outpacing men in testing volumes as diagnostics giant offers flat 50% off lifestyle health packages
Ahead of Independence Day, Redcliffe Labs, one of India's leading omnichannel diagnostics service providers, has launched its wellness offer season sale, an initiative aimed at encouraging more Indians to prioritise preventive healthcare.
The launch coincides with an analysis of more than 20 million diagnostic tests, offering insight into evolving healthcare behaviour across age groups, genders and geographies.
The analysis found that nearly 70% of Redcliffe Labs' testing volumes are now preventive, reflecting a growing preference for routine health screening and early diagnosis.
It also points to shifting healthcare behaviour nationally, with women emerging as the leading adopters of diagnostic testing, Gen Z accounting for nearly one in five tests, and rising demand for organised diagnostics beyond India's metropolitan centres.
The company noted that diagnostics influence nearly 80% of clinical decisions globally, despite accounting for only 3-5% of healthcare expenditure, underscoring the outsized role timely diagnosis plays in improving health outcomes.
As lifestyle diseases continue to rise, Redcliffe Labs believes strengthening access to preventive diagnostics will be key to enabling earlier intervention and reducing the burden of advanced disease.
Younger Indians are also reshaping testing patterns. Nearly one in five diagnostic tests conducted by Redcliffe Labs is now booked by Gen Z. Beyond routine investigations such as Complete Blood Count (CBC), Urine Routine Examination, Liver Function Test (LFT) and Kidney Function Test (KFT), Gen Z is increasingly opting for HbA1c, Lipid Profile, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and Thyroid Profile — tests that reflect heightened awareness of metabolic health, nutrition and lifestyle-related conditions.
Across all age groups and genders, CBC, Urine Routine Examination, LFT and KFT remain the most frequently booked investigations, while Lipid Profile has emerged as a top preference among men, indicating growing attention to cardiovascular health and lifestyle risk assessment.
Aditya Kandoi, Founder & CEO of Redcliffe Labs, said, "At Redcliffe Labs, nearly 70% of our testing volumes today are preventive, but we don't see that as the destination, we see it as the beginning. Our aspiration goes beyond our own numbers. We want to see preventive healthcare become a national habit, where people choose to understand their health before illness demands attention."
"That is the spirit behind our Independence Day movement, Hum Honge Kamyaab, a belief that India's greatest healthcare achievement will be when prevention becomes the country's first healthcare choice, helping millions add healthier years to life before illness takes away their quality of living," Kandoi added.
